Located between San Gimignano and Volterra, this ancient Villa during the Middle Ages was known as the "Mons Igneus", meaning "the mount of fire", referring to the signal fire that was lit to warn the inhabitants of San Gimignano of an impending assault from the army of Volterra.
This wonderful Villa is surrounded by a private park of 9 hectares of trees and gardens and this is able to provide intimacy and absolute privacy to our customers. The ideal location of this property gives to the guests the possibility to enjoy relaxing walks and enchanting views of the Tuscan countryside.
Both the villa and dependence are furnished in sobre and tasteful style and with respect to the rustic traditional architecture. Extreme attention has been paid to every detail and especially to the refined handcraft works utilized such as lime putty plastered and painted walls, luxurious bathrooms, kitchen entirely in Carrara marble, floors in Impruneta Terracotta, exclusive terrace in Pienza Travertine marble and traditional wooden-beam ceilings on the first floor.
Villa (500 sqm. - 4+2 guests):
The ground floor consists of a beautiful loggia, an entrance hall, a very spacious living room and a large dining room both with fireplace, a bathroom and a welcoming kitchen both in light grey solid marble, and a store-room.
On the first floor there are two double bedrooms each with a private bathroom, in addition a roomy study (which can be used as an additional bedroom) and a terrace overlooking the swimming pool.
The second floor, apart from a small bedroom for children, is kept as a mansard.
Dependance (300 sqm – 12+2 guests):
Entering the ground floor there is a large living room with double sofa bed, 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, and the laundry room. On the first floor there is one double bedroom with ensuite bathroom, and 5 other bedrooms (four double bedrooms and one small bedroom with a bunk bed) with 3 seperate bathrooms available.
In order to equip the villa with all modern comforts the following amenities are provided: satellite TV, telephone, independent heating, a laundry room, 6 burner-gas stove in kitchen, dishwasher, two refrigerators, one deep freeze and an ice-machine. Bed/bath/table linen are provided, except for swimming-pool towels (on request). At guests disposal garden furniture, as tables, chairs, sunshades, deck-chairs for the terrace, loggia and swimming pool.
